Hattie Farwell is an 80-year-old accidental sleuth who lives in beautiful, rural upper Bucks County, Pennsylvania. She solves crimes with the help of her massive Irish Wolfhound/American timberwolf hybrid dog, Wolf.
Hattie’s a very vital octogenarian, and a no-nonsense kinda gal. She dresses for comfort, not to impress. Her usual attire of choice consists of a white, button-down blouse tucked into a straight black skirt and lace-up black boots. It’s her way of honoring her grandmother, a figure who loomed large in Hattie’s early development. Young Hattie was much impressed by her grandmother’s strong character, grit and determination to be her own person in a time when women usually settled for a background role. Now Hattie is the strong older woman, and she claims the role with energy and wit.
From her very first case, Hattie’s incisive intelligence and keen powers of observation serve well in her newest role as accidental investigator.
